This BLog is one result of a family Movie watching project we began a few years ago. I was walking by the aero theater in Santa Monica, which was playing “The Wild Bunch.” () I mentioned to my partner that I had never seen the wild bunch despite the fact that my father had sung its praises. The next thing I knew, more ambitious members of my family had organized a Westerns Movie group and selected a Classic film in the genre from each decade beginning in the 1940s. as we moved on to thriller/noir I noticed that a number of these great classic movies were based on books that i had never read and or never heard of.
This goal of this blog is to shine a light on these older books and the movies they inspired, many of which are fading from memory. This is not a lost books blog – all films and books I post about will be accessible. The only requirement for the titles is that both book and movie are at least 50 years old.
